tips for plotting landscape wide table in latex

1. no need to add landscape in documentclass. if you do so, all pages are universally landscape but this will bother you in placing tables correctly. I have been trapped for quite a while in this stituation. Just confused about the relationship between the orientation of table and that of page.

have almost the same effect in ploting single-page landscape table. The difference lies in the gauge of textwidth, the former uses the landscape width while the latter uses the portrait width as I spot. Also, remember to invoke rotating and lscape packages in the start.

3. In winedt context, uncheck landscape checkbox in dvi2ps command prompt, in the same dialog, leave paper size and orientation to default. after concerting dvi to ps, open ps file in ghostview, choose to convert ps to pdf in ghostview instead of clicking the built-in ps2pdf icon in the winedt control panel. dunno why it is so, but indeed, it is so. unfortunately, i have waisted too much time before obtaining this knowledge.

4. the remaining is all of a piece of cake.
